The VGSE faculty members are recognized as experts in their respective fields by the international research community. They are specialists in one of the three areas of economic research (microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics). They either contribute to developing the techniques needed in modern economic research or apply them in their fields of expertise.
Each individual VGSE faculty member has an extensive network of international collaborators. VGSE builds on these relationships for inviting guest professors, for organizing small workshops at which students present their results, and for initiating student exchange. These relations are in particular used for organizing research visits of several months at a suitable international research institution for students who are close to the final stage of their dissertation work. more...

Each individual VGSE faculty member has an extensive network of international collaborators. VGSE builds on these relations for regularly inviting guest professors who stay approximately two weeks to give lectures. Each academic year VGSE invites at least three guest professors (one in microeconomics, one in macroeconomics, and one in econometrics). The guest professors that will visit in the academic year 2012/13 are Prof. Dale Mortensen, Prof. Shakeeb Kahn, Prof. Clemens Puppe, and Prof. Thomas Lubik. more...
